Statistic
Based on a 2020 research* conducted over the past 30 years, it has been observed that the prevalence of major depression in the general population is around 5%, while among artists, the rate is notably higher at approximately 15%.
Studies of artists collated in "Scientific American" confirm that artist are 18 times more likely to suicide than the general population.
Research indicated that a significant portion of accomplished artists experience symptoms of depression and anxiety throughout their careers.
This UI/UX project aims to explore strategies to support creative talents in the marketplace and develop a seamless platform for businesses seeking to engage with these talents throughout their careers.

Problem Statement
Optimizing support for individual creatives to enhance the caliber of their artistic output on the platform.
How can we create an efficient & easy to use UI design for artists to carry out an efficient & stress-free journey while creating their portfolio on the platform?
How can we establish a fair and secure platform that caters to the demands of both buyers (business) and sellers (artists) ?

We develop a desktop platform for networking and portfolio management, along with a mobile application for seamless communication.
We identify 6 main sectors for desktop platform:

- Portfolio (guidelines to help talents' set up their portfolios)

Integrate concept of Chromotherapy
What is Chromotherapy?
A colour therapy uses the power of colour in our everyday lives to support our mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. Research shown that it can help with decrease pain, improve sleep, sharpen focus and reduce anxiety.
Statistic
One 2020 study* that surveyed the emotional associations of 4,598 people from 30 different countries found that people commonly associate certain colors with specific emotions.
According to the study results:
- White : 43% of people associated white with relief
- Red : 68% associated red with love
- Blue : 35% linked blue to feelings of relief
- Green : 39% linked green to contentment
- Yellow : 52% felt that yellow means joy
- Purple : 25% felt that purple means pleasure
- Orange : 44% associated orange with joy
- Pink : 50% linked pink with love
Upon analyzing the research data, we have selected the hues representing "relief" and "joy" as the primary colors for our design, with the goal of creating a serene and inviting user interface.

Analysis of areas for enhancement & suggested improvements
Biggest Challenges
As we designed and understood the project more, we found a few challenges we faced during this research:
- Our project aims to gain insights from the perspective of talented individuals, helping them overcome anxiety and excel in their portfolios to secure promising opportunities. In addition to conducting quantitative research, we should also delve into the business aspect to determine what constitutes an outstanding portfolio for these individuals.
- This critical analysis will play a pivotal role in their decision-making process when selecting the most suitable candidates.
Lesson Learnt
After the project, we learnt that certain aspects can enhance the overall experience:
- While the incorporation of chromotherapy has garnered positive feedback from users, we believe there is room for further optimization to elevate the site's overall performance, particularly from a business perspective.
- Users are seeking increased engagement opportunities on the platform to facilitate connections between businesses and talented individuals. We believe there is ample room for the implementation of more robust engagement strategies.
